Election night party decorations

Go Patriotic: No matter who you’re voting for, a patriotic color scheme will work for everyone! Try out this DIY patriotic election decoration:

Patriotic Pom Poms: Buy beautiful patriotic decorations or make them yourself. Pom poms are a festive addition to any room. To create your own, you will need:

  • Red, white, and blue tissue paper (9 sheets total)
  • White curling ribbon
  • Scissors

Lay the sheets of tissue paper on top of each other, alternating colors. Pinch them together in the middle and tie with the ribbon, leaving enough ribbon to hang. Round the edges of the ends of the paper with the scissors. Fluff up each layer until it forms a ball and hang around your party!

Choose a Political Party: Create a republican and democratic theme with cute elephant and donkey designs. Use the same design in the same colors for your entire party and incorporate them in different ways. Let everyone choose a pin when they arrive and then continue the theme on their place cards and name tags. Use both of the animals as decorations around the party.

Don’t Forget the Favors: Election party favors are another great way to continue your theme. Homemade cookies are a great favor that everyone loves. Use elephant and donkey cookie cutters to incorporate your theme, and add a tag with your animal designs to the bag.

Set Up a Voting Booth: An easy booth can be made with cardboard or fabric hung from rope. Make a sign that says voting booth and design your own ballots. You can set it up like the real election and see who would win if your guests were voting, or make it fun and include the names of your guests. You could also set up the voting booth as a photo booth instead!

Whichever way you’re voting, your election party is sure to be a success with these decoration ideas!
