Spring Cleaning Yankee Swap

A spring cleaning yankee swap is a fun and exciting spring party theme. The idea behind the theme is for guests to bring an unwanted item from their homes (as a result of spring cleaning) and trade with a guest at the party. Start with a spring cleaning party invitation, add important event details and explain how the party will work, then text or email your invite to guests.

For swap rules, set an agreed-upon, average value for the items, such as $10. The items can be anything from a picture frame to an unused candle. Plan the spring cleaning yankee swap the same way as a typical yankee swap. First, instruct guests to place the wrapped items on a display table. Next, draw numbers for each guest. Start with the lowest number first. That person will pick a gift and open it. The person with the next number will then select a gift, open it and decide to trade or keep the gift. At the end of the game, the person with the lowest number will choose from all of the gifts.

Spring Gardening Party

A spring gardening party theme is perfect for spring themed parties. To start, customize garden party invitations and send from any digital device in minutes. At the party, have each guest decorate a pot and then plant spring flowers. Supply guests with clay pots, paint, paint brushes, potting soil, gardening gloves, a variety of flower seeds and water. Have the guests paint and decorate the pots first. While the pots dry, serve appetizers and drinks to guests. Once the pots are dry, have the guests plant their flowers.

Spring Potluck & Recipe Swap

A spring potluck and recipe exchange is a great way to show off your cooking skills and gain some cooking knowledge of your own. Find your favorite potluck invitation, then use the Potluck Feature to ask guests to bring a spring dish to the party, such as an appetizer, main course, or dessert. Don't fret: the Potluck Feature ensures you won't have duplicate dishes or too many desserts!

For the actual recipe swap, here are three different ways to make it work:
  1. Guests can print enough recipes to share at the party.
  2. Guests can email recipes to you and you can share them online.
  3. Guests can share recipes with you and you can compile them into small booklets to distribute at the party.

Spring Mixed Drink Party

A spring mixed drink party is one of the most enjoyable spring party themes for adults. Send cocktail party invitations to set the stage for your event then check out these delicious spring cocktail recipes for inspiration. If you're not into mixology, hire several bartenders for the evening and have each of them set up a separate bartending station either in a house, a backyard, or a venue. Ask the bartender at each station to serve a different drink, and to post the name of the drink and recipe in clear view for guests. At the end of the evening, have guests vote in order to determine the favorite drink of the evening.

As party favors, give out small potted plants or tree seedlings that guests can plant in their own yard. Make sure the plates and napkins you use are made from recycled materials. Keep with the spring theme and serve carrot sticks with hummus and ranch dip, organic chips, flower-shaped cookies, and fresh fruit.

Provide ballpark-themed food including Cracker Jacks, peanuts, and hotdogs. A baseball-decorated cake is perfect for dessert; and don’t forget refreshments like soda or juice for the kids and beer for the adults. Decorate with your favorite team’s colors and use baseball cards as coasters. If you don’t have a favorite team or want to stay neutral, stick with a red, white and blue theme. Use streamers, banners, and tablecloths to make the party feel festive! Have the opening day game on television, but also provide a baseball or whiffle ball game in the backyard to keep the kids entertained.
