Popular Party Dip Recipes

An easy and essential element to any party menu is a flavorful, crowd-pleasing dip. There are all the standard party dip ideas like spinach/artichoke dip, guacamole and sour cream and onion. But, instead of doing the expected, try some of our easy dips which have some unusual twists but always are a hit with the crowd. Even adding a few new ingredients to party dip recipes you already now can add a little spice to the appetizers you offer. Here are some recipes for party dips that we love as well as some easy party dip ideas to try at your next special occasion. 

Roasted Tomato Hummus: Easy to make but impressive to serve, this party dip recipe is also packed with good, healthy ingredients. 

  • 1/2 cup slow roasted tomatoes (can be found in deli section of grocery store)
  • 1 can (15.5 oz.) garbanzo beans
  • 2 tbsp. garlic puree
  • 1/4 cup tahini sauce
  • 2-3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt

Drain the garbanzo beans, rinse and allow to drain completely. Place tomatoes and garlic in a food processor and combine for 30 seconds. Add beans and process again for 2 minutes. Add tahini sauce, lemon juice, olive oil and half the water. Process briefly again (if it seems too thick, add more water) and add salt. Serve with pita bread, crackers, fresh cut veggies or bagel chips. 

Ricotta Dip: A definite crowd-pleaser, this dip can be served with a variety of snacks and is especially good with soft pretzels. 

  • 2 15 ounce containers of ricotta, part skim
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 cup and 1 tbsp. grated Parmesan
  • Kosher salt and black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Heat the broiler. Mix ricotta, parsley, thyme, red pepper, 1/2 cup Parmesan, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. black pepper in a medium bowl. Transfer to a shallow baking dish and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with leftover Parmesan. Broil for about five minutes until brown and bubbling.

Warm Apple Pie Dip: Who says dips can't be served for dessert? This is a yummy and super easy sweet finish to any party.

  • 1 1/3 cups peeled, cored and cubed apples (best to use green apples)
  • 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. apricot preserves
  • 1/8 tsp. cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and shake well. Spread on a greased baking tray and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and place back in the bowl. Shake again and then serve with cinnamon pita chips.
